I met Chris quite a few years ago and was instantly impressed with his drive, work ethic and wonderful song writing skills. He is one of the most focused and directed people I know. Chris’s music is accessible and well written and he is a wonderful singer and guitarist.
I have seen terrific growth in his music and performing abilities during the past years and I feel very confident that he will reach his goals . Finally I would like to mention that Chris is one of the most ethical people I know.

I was Christopher Youmans’ vocal coach at UC Berkeley from 2013 - 2015. During that period we worked on vocal technique through diverse musical styles including Jazz, R&B, Folk etc. Christopher is a powerful singer with a unique voice and is a dynamic performer. But for me his most definite strength is his song writing. Christopher understands song form and has a beautiful sense of melody. His compositions are balanced and well crafted. His lyrics are personal and unsentimental, telling stories.
Christopher is also a blooming arranger and producer. He writes horn, string and vocal parts to augment his songs, adding depth and complexity. He has very clear musical ideas about his compositions and he has learned much about recording technique and how to develop his songs in a studio setting.
Christopher is serious, committed and dedicated to his music. He has many ideas to develop and long term goals that he will pursue as he grows as an artist. I have full confidence in him and his talent.
— Cecilia Engelhart, Voice Instructor - UC Berkeley
I have rarely met anyone with Chris’s drive and vision. His work ethic continually impresses and inspires me. When he learns something, he studies it until his knowledge borders on encyclopedic. When he embarks on a project, he does so with a clear vision and meticulous attention to detail. He cares immensely about his songwriting and musicianship, and this intense devotion brings about an incredible level of quality in his work. His genuine spirit comes through in his music, his raw emotion and storytelling making superbly crafted melodies and infectious grooves speak to something deep within his audience. He is a wonderful performer in a variety of styles, with excellent guitar playing supporting powerful and versatile vocals.
